After speculation throughout the past couple of days that Meek Mill and his legal team were about to make a massive move, XXL reports that his lawyer has today (Feb. 14) filed a Post-Conviction Relief Act petition.

In other words, this could be the motion that results in the Philadelphia’s rapper conviction being vacated. If charges are not withdrawn nor dismissed, his legal team is also requesting a new trial in the wake of new documents surfacing that point to corruption surrounding the officer who arrested Meek back in 2007.

As reported, the court documents claim that officer Reginald Graham has a history of “making dirty arrests” among other signs of police corruption, such as allegedly stealing, and because of this, Meek’s legal team is asking for the arresting officer’s testimony to be thrown out entirely.

Additionally, the documents reportedly show that former Philadelphia police officer Jerold Gibson stated that Graham lied about what happened at the time of Meek’s arrest. Gibson provided a sworn affidavit during which he states that Meek never pointed a gun at the officer or anyone else, as well as that Meek pulled a gun out of his waistband but only to discard the weapon, two details that contradict Graham’s original testimony.

A second former officer, Jeffrey Walker, was also quoted in the documents, with his affidavit speaking to Graham’s history of abuse, lying and racial bias, as well as that Graham admitted to Walker that he had inflicted physical harm on Meek back in 2007 or 2008.

More on Meek Mill’s case as it continues to develop.
