Havoc Tells “Drink Champs” he wants to “give it a little time” before a new Mobb Deep album
Havoc says he has plans to give fans of him and Prodigy’s legendary group “one last hurrah.”
According to some close friends, late, legendary MC Prodigy has a plethora of music he recorded for solo albums tucked away safely in the vaults. As for another go-round from him and Havoc’s iconic group? More is on the way as well, thank goodness.
“There’s definitely a Mobb Deep album in the stash,” Hav tells N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on this week’s episode of Drink Champs.
Prodigy died suddenly and mysteriously last June. While in Las Vegas for the “Art of Rap” concert, he suffered complications from sickle cell anemia and was hospitalized. He died under the doctor’s care and according to the autopsy, he choked to death on an egg.
Havoc says he didn’t want to rush a Mobb album out in the wake of his best friend’s and music partner for almost 30 years’ death.
“I just want to give it a little bit of time,” Hav explained.
Drink Champs this week pays tribute to P, with not just Havoc stopping by, but longtime music family member Rapper Noyd and tenured DJ and producers L.E.S. and Tony Touch also get in the mix.
The new Mobb album is still a ways from completion and Hav revealed he has more to put together.
“Half and half,” he answered. “I have to piece it together, [we have] stuff that already was recorded, because I think that’s what people want; One last hurrah. That’s defintely in the mix.”
