In an unfortunate turn of events, the life of platinum-selling producer was cut short over the weekend in Atlanta.

Miles Ferrell, better known as Ensayne Wayne, was shot and killed on Saturday (February 10) outside of a men’s clothing boutique in Atlanta. He was 48.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta police officers responded to an emergency call for a person shot outside a boutique on Saturday evening. Upon arrival, authorities say they found Ferrell injured with a shotgun on him. As per the report, “Witnesses reported that the decedent and another unknown male were engaged in a heated verbal dispute outside the location which escalated into gunfire.”

The shooter reportedly sped away from the scene in a black sedan.

Ferrell was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

An investigation is underway.

The producer, who is responsible for Plies’ 2007 breakout single “Shawty,” was also the older brother of Grammy Award winning beatsmith Drumma Boy. Under his producer tag, Ferrell acquired placements for Three 6 Mafia, 8Ball & MJG, Young Buck, Plies, and more.

Drumma Boy reacted to the news with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
