Saturday (Feb. 3) word got out that Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl halftime show would feature a special guest, in the form of a Prince hologram.

Fans weren’t here for such a direction, with many pulling up receipts that Prince was passionately against the idea of a performing alongside a hologram recreation of a deceased artist, as well as wasn’t necessarily #TeamJT himself. Luckily, it appears as though Sheila E. has stepped in to save the show.

Taking to Twitter, the Prince collaborator explained that she spoke with Timberlake, convincing him to rethink his performance.

“Family, I spoke w/ Justin 2nite and he shared heartfelt words of respect for Prince & the Purple fans,” Sheila E. posted on Twitter late Saturday evening. “I look 4wrd 2 seeing what I’m sure is going 2 be a spectacular halftime show. There is no hologram.”

In a 1998 interview with Guitar World, Prince gave his opinion on if he would perform alongside a deceased musician in the form of a digitally recreated hologram.

“Certainly not,” he said, in a now famous response. “That’s the most demonic thing imaginable. Everything is as it is, and it should be. If I was meant to jam with Duke Ellington, we would have lived in the same age. That whole virtual reality thing… it really is demonic. And I am not a demon.”

Additionally, Janet Jackson has since come forward to debunk any rumor that she will be making a special guest appearance, with many calling for a Super Bowl reunion since their infamous 2004 “Nipplegate” performance.

“To put to rest any speculation or rumors as to whether I will be performing at the Super Bowl tomorrow: I will not,” she confirmed to People. “Thank you for your support and I do look forward to seeing you all very soon.”

Looks like we’ll all have to wait and see what other tricks Justin Timberlake has up his sleeve. Super Bowl LII is set to begin tonight at 6:30PM ET, with the New England Patriots taking on the Philadelphia Eagles.
