1. Celebrities love JAY-Z just as much as we do.

I’m a HUGE JAY-Z fan and so are the majority of hip-hop lovers around the world. One thing I learned for sure during Roc Nation’s Grammy Brunch is that celebrities love JAY-Z just as much as us regular folks do. Even though JAY-Z is arguably the most sought-after celebrity in the world, he was chilling out, mingling with everyone. JAY’s presence was felt throughout the room and when he walked by, he commanded the attention of everyone. Almost every hip-hop celebrity you can think of was trying to get a little conversation time with Hov.

2. Live in the moment.

Often times, we get so caught up in taking pictures, updating Instagram Stories and trying to capture memories, that we forget to live in the moment. Lucky for me, my phone was dead and I had more than enough time to mingle and be a social butterfly. To be honest, at the time, I was pretty mad I didn’t have my phone to capture all the luxurious moments. But in the end, it made me feel freer and engaged in the environment.

3. Music makes the world go round.

Every time the music switched up, so did the vibe of the party. Music was a key factor in the success of this brunch, with the DJ playing hits from almost every artist in the room. One of my favorite music moments happened when the new Drake single “God’s Plan” came on. Almost everyone in the room joined together to sing every word of the new single, bonding everyone together for a strong 3 minutes and 19 seconds. It was powerful.

4. Beyonce is even more beautiful in person.

I’m a HUGE Beyoncé fan. I’ve been to a few Beyoncé concerts in the past, but never have I seen the Queen Bey up close and personal. At the Roc Nation brunch, she was literally standing right next to me… and I felt her beautiful energy. At that moment, I realized that Beyoncé was not only beautiful, but so was her spirit. I understood even more why the world loves her so much.

5. Wear comfortable shoes.

By the end of the night, I spent probably a total of 12 hours on my feet. I’m so happy I wore comfortable shoes. The brunch was a fancy affair, so I was tempted to wear heels, but I went with my first mind, and wore dressy flats. You never know what the day will bring, and the last thing you want to be worried about is sore feet.
