While the 2018 Grammys have already come and gone, forcing many to air their grievances about how the Recording Academy voted, this year’s iHeart Media Awards are gearing up to make its return and give the power back to the fans.
As announced today (Feb. 1), the fifth-annual awards will be taking place on Sunday, March 11, and will feature performances by Cardi B, Ed Sheeran, Camila Capello and more, with DJ Khaled and Hailey Baldwin slated to host.
“iHeartRadio is a huge supporter of artists and music, so to get to be part of this celebration is a huge honor,” DJ Khaled shared in a statement. “It has been an extraordinary year in music and I couldn’t be more excited than to be celebrating these amazing artists with all of their fans nationwide.”
Additionally, iHeartMedia will present seven awards in the seven nights leading up to the main event, giving artists an individual spotlight to celebrate and give an acceptance speech. Fans also will have the opportunity to vote and decide on winners in a variety of categories, including the first-ever Cutest Musician’s Pet.
“This is a night that belongs 100 percent to music fans and the artists they love,” said John Sykes, President of Entertainment Enterprises for iHeartMedia. “They listen to these songs every day on their favorite iHeartRadio station, and this is an opportunity to see them recognized on a national television stage.”
