Who’s the best emcee, Biggie, Jay-Z or Nas? Over twenty years since JAY-Z posed the famous question of all on 1997’s “Where I’m From,” DJ Khaled now appears to have pulled off (or witnessed) the unimaginable.

In an Instagram post that has since left hip-hop fans salivating, the We The Best impresario can be seen standing next to Jay and Nas as the caption reads: “A hip hop dream is now our reality. The language being spoken in this picture should be written in scriptures. This picture should be framed and put up in the museums across the world for future generations to appreciate. I’ll tell you while we’re smiling at a later date. Trust me you’re gonna love it!BLESS UP!”

All that’s left after Khaled’s post is questions. What is “now our reality”? And does it consist of a collaboration? Because ever since Jigga and Esco broke bread over a decade ago, we’ve seen them join forces on 2006’s “Black Republicans” for Nas, 2007’s “Success” for Jay, 2008’s “I Do It For Hip-Hop” for Ludacris, and 2013’s “BBC” for Jay. Last but not least, when is this “later date”? All that said, the thought of what might be is enough to entice the hip-hop purist’s wet dream.

Back in 2013, Steve Stoute teased the idea of a JAY-Z and Nas, Illmatic meets Reasonable Doubt style tour that would find the two icons performing their magnum opuses. “I just want to see the [whole] Illmatic album performed, Reasonable Doubt performed, back-to-back and that’s it,” he shared to REVOLT, before adding, “a hip-hop history, culture show.”
