Husband and wife Rasual Butler, 38, and Leah LaBelle, 31, were killed in a car accident early this morning (January 31) in Studio City, Calif.
He was a former NBA player who played for the Hornets, Clippers, Bulls, Raptors, Pacers, Wizards and Spurs in his career, and she was a former American Idol contestant who was previously signed to a joint deal with L.A. Reid and Epic Records, Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Recordings and Pharrell’s new label I Am Other. Pharrell produced her charted single, “Sexify.”
According to TMZ, Butler lost control of his Range Rover around 2 a.m., struck a parking meter, slammed into a wall, and the car flipped. Officers believe the car was speeding before it lost control.
LaBelle last shared an Instagram video of the couple four months ago for her birthday celebration, while Butler posted a photo last week calling his wife a “modern day Marilyn Monroe.”
