The 60th Annual Grammy Awards are in full swing, currently airing live from New York’s Madison Square Garden.

While the night is still young, one upset from the star-studded affair is starting to really hurt. Just over a half-hour into the ceremony and SZA is already out of the running.

REVOLT Specials | And the 2018 Grammys go to…

The TDE artist broke history as the most-nominated female artist this year with a solid five nominations, with JAY-Z leading the pack for the men with eight. Unfortunately, SZA officially will be walking away from the ceremony without a Gramophone to add to her trophy case.

As reported, Bruno Mars took home the prize for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song, The Weeknd won Best Urban Contemporary Album, Alessia Cara was awarded Best New Artist and Kendrick Lamar took home his fourth win of the night (so far) with his Rihanna-assisted “LOYALTY.” in the category of Best Rap/Sung Performance, all of which SZA was nominated for.

While the competition was undeniably tough, many fans are starting to put two and two together (with some of the awards somewhat quietly announced prior to the ceremony) that SZA doesn’t get to add being a Grammy winner to her ever-growing list of accolades this year.

However, considering her laundry list of recent successes, such as modeling for Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, performing on Saturday Night Live, making Barack Obama’s 2017 playlist and joining her TDE family on a massive tour, getting snubbed at this year’s Grammy Awards certainly isn’t going to dim her shine or slow her glow-up by any means. But still, Recording Academy, this one stings.

Additionally, for another silver lining, the singer is also set to perform at the Grammys later this evening.
