As he previously promised, Nelly is now taking action to clear his name after a woman falsely accused him of rape.

As reported, Nelly has officially filed a countersuit, during which he claims his accuser lied about their sexual encounter in order to get him arrested. The initial rape case against the St. Louis rapper was dropped by prosecutors back in December 2017.

Rumor Report | Nelly faces two new accusations of sexual assault

According to reports, the documents were filed by Nelly and his legal team on Friday (Jan. 26), with Nelly claiming Monique Greene’s allegations of rape were a “clear and malicious” attempt to get him prosecuted.

Per TMZ, the documents that Nelly reportedly filed also claim that the situation cost him money (in the form of canceling a scheduled performance) as well as damaged his reputation.

Additionally, Nelly has filed a motion to strike Greene’s claim that he has sexually harassed at least two other women, as well as is calling for her defamation suit against him to be dropped.
