DJ and radio personality Cipha Sounds has a new hustle: comedy. His latest comedic endeavor happens to be hosting TruTV’s new series Laff Mob’s Laff Tracks. “Please watch the show,” he said as he sat with The Breakfast Club. “There’s a lot of young comedians making their name on the show and a lot of dope actors.” His conversation with Angela Yee, DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God also covered what he doesn’t miss from his time on radio, leaving Hot 97 and mentoring Angela Yee.

On what he misses about radio: “I miss certain aspects of it. I don’t miss the getting up early part. I’ll tell you what I miss the most – being on a Saturday for two hours just mixing with people going crazy when you pay all of the hot joints. I miss that part of it, but the coming up with topics every day and the drama, I don’t miss.”

On staying loyal to Hot 97: “I didn’t want to leave, because I figured that was my home. I planted my seeds there. Even though there was a lot more money being offered, a bigger position and stardom and fame. But I didn’t want to leave at the time.”

On mentoring Angela Yee: “She was horrible [laughs.] Nah, Angela always been the best. Okay, talking on the mic and broadcasting, you needed a little polishing. But coming with the news – you knew everything that was going on. Same like you are today.
