Joey Badass is celebrating his birthday this weekend, and in true form, is also giving back to his fans.

On Friday (Jan. 19), after sharing an epic cover of Prince’s “When Doves Cry,” he released a new original track, “King to a God,” alongside Pro Era’s Dessy Hinds. Following these sonic blessings, Badass then took to Instagram to confirm he has a collaborative mixtape with XXXTentatcion in the works as well.

X originally made the announcement, with Badass later confirming the news by way of posting a screenshot on his Instagram story, adding “LETSGOOOOO @xxxtentacion.”

The Florida rapper has recently gone back and forth about quitting music, but a couple months after sharing he was retiring, he shared a holiday EP and further promised fans he will release three albums in 2018.

In Oct. 2017, new details emerged regarding XXXTentacion’s alleged abuse of a pregnant woman. In Dec. 2017, he was hit with seven new felony charges, bringing the total to 15. He was later released from jail and placed on house arrest.
