After sharing a teaser with fans, Jay Rock has today (Jan. 11) delivered his highly anticipated collaboration with Kendrick Lamar and Future.

All three join forces for “King’s Dead,” an explosive track that is slated to appear both on the official Black Panther: The Album soundtrack and Jay Rock’s forthcoming album.

Lamar opens the song with some Instagram-caption worthy lyrics, “(Miss me with that bulls—t / You ain’t really wild, you a tourist),” warming up the track for Jay Rock’s verse.

“I’ve been ready, my whip been ready / My b—h been ready, my clique’s been ready / My s—t’s been ready, my checks been ready / My shot’s on full, that’s Armageddon,” he spits over the Teddy Walton and Mike WiLL Made-It production.

Future and Kung Fu Kenny then harmonize during the chorus, later tagging Jay Rock back in to handle the bridge alongside the Hndrxx rapper. After a brief contribution from James Blake, K. Dot then gets his own verse and knocks the song out of the park, even making a reference to the upcoming film’s villain, Erik “Killmonger” Stevens.

Considering Lamar’s heavy involvement with the movie’s soundtrack, it doesn’t come as a surprise that this song is as passionate as it is action-packed.
