After spending the last nine months in an Illinois state prison, Kevin Gates is now a free man.
Gates, who was originally sentenced to 30 months in prison for felony gun possession back in April 2017, was released Wednesday morning (January 10) from prison on parole. REVOLT confirmed the news with the Illinois Department of Corrections. Following his release, the rapper took to Instagram and posted an image featuring the words, “I’M HIM.”
Gates, who released his latest mixtape, By Any Means 2, last month, is expected to be under “mandatory supervision,” as TMZ reports, and will be barred from possessing any firearms.
