New Music: Cassie recruits Kaytranada for smoky, synthy "Don't Play It Safe"
The singer smoothly and seductively takes control over the producer’s beat.
Following the release of her G-Eazy-assisted comeback single “Love A Loser,” Cassie enlists Kaytranada for its follow-up, “Don’t Play It Safe.”
She teased their collaboration when REVOLT TV spoke to her back in October (see below), saying, “I’ve been working creatively with Kaytranada, who I’m a huge fan of, and then I found out he was a fan of me, so we got in the studio together and did a bunch of stuff together.”
Minimal and mid-tempo, Cassie smoothly and seductively takes control over Kaytranada’s bright synths and scratchy drums: “Don’t wait, baby / Don’t play it safe / Go take the reins / Show me some things.” Hear it below.
Cassie also told REVOLT TV that she’d been working with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jeremih, Hit-Boy, and James Fauntletoy. Can’t wait to see what 2018 holds!
