This past April, fans were treated to a new Gorillaz, HUMANZ. As it turns out, the storied group is far from slowing down now that they’ve broken their seven-year hiatus between albums.

During a recent interview with co-founding artist Jamie Hewlett, it was confirmed that the virtual group will be releasing a new album in 2018.

“We’re going straight into the album with no break,” Hewlett revealed during the conversation with TASCHEN. “Usually we have a good five-year break between each album but we decided: ‘You know what? Let’s keep going’ because there’s ideas for a few more albums so we’re going to go straight into that. So that will be all of next year and probably the year beyond that.”

Most recently, the group dropped a new collaborative loose single, “Garage Palace,” which features UK rapper and singer Little Simz. Simz also was tapped to open for the Gorillaz’s European shows, which concluded earlier this month in London.
