2017 was a doozie. And to recap the roller coaster ride of a year we just experienced, we called on two of hip hop’s most controversial voices, Charlamagne tha God and Joe Budden. However, they couldn’t quite agree on whether the year, which saw the Grammy Awards showing lots of love to the culture, which was lit, while also showing that life under Trump totally sucked. Realizing that the year had its ups and downs, they compromised.

On December 26th, Charlamagne tha God and Joe Budden will come together to host REVOLT’s This Year Was Dope/Trash. During the special, the entertaining tandem will revisit highlights and lowlights of the last 12 months. “We are here to talk about the Top 5 everything,” said The Breakfast Club’s co-host in the upcoming show’s trailer, which can be viewed here.

Categories will include Top 5 Albums, Top 5 Lyricists, Top 5 Hottest Artists, Top 5 Trash Rappers and Top 5 Tragedies. “He got some really wild South Carolina sh*t on his list,” jokes Budden, who recently a welcomed a baby boy to the world with his wife Cyn Santana.
