Freedom is no fear.

For a large part of her career, Nina Simone exemplified her famous mantra by being a leading example of skillfully bending fear into unworried expression. By next year, the legendary singer’s trailblazing footprint will be crystalized in the hallowed halls of musical greats.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced the 2018 inductees, which include the incomparable Nina Simone, Bon Jovi, the Cars, Dire Straits, and the Moody Blues. Sister Rosetta Tharpe, who is better recognized as the Godmother of Rock & Roll, will also be honored with the Early Influence award.

The 33rd annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at Cleveland’s Public Hall on April 14th, 2018. An edited version of the ceremony will air later on HBO, along with a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.
