Earlier this summer, a shockwave of grief poured over the music community following the unexpected and tragic passing of Linkin Park’s beloved frontman, Chester Bennington.

The singer’s death was ruled a suicide by hanging on July 20, with countless celebrities and musicians expressing their condolences, as well as utilizing their platforms to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health, a dialogue that Linkin Park collaborator JAY-Z has continued passionately during his 4:44 tour run.

As reported, new details regarding Bennington’s death have since been released, with the singer’s toxicology report showcasing a “trace amount” of alcohol in his system. He was 41 at the time of his death.

It was previously reported that MDMA (ecstasy) was detected as well, with TMZ later updating its report to further clarify that after his blood tested “presumptive positive,” two other tests disproved the claim.

Following an investigation of the singer’s bedroom, a prescription bottle of Zolpidem (the generic version of the sleep aid Ambien) was found, along with a small amount of beer. Additionally, Bennington’s wife, Talinda, later shared with reporters that her husband had been in an outpatient treatment program at the time.

Linkin Park is set to release One More Light Live on Dec. 15, which will feature 2017 recordings from the band’s final shows and pay tribute to their late frontman.
