Just days after his pal LeBron James got the people going with a braggadocios Instagram post, Jay-Z came out with the last laugh during a recent 4:44 tour stop.

Last week, LeBron James riled up New Yorkers after he hailed himself the “King of New York” following a victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The post, which has since amassed 1.5 million likes on IG, earned reactions from REVOLT’s own Chairman Sean “Diddy” Combs, Fabolous, Funkmaster Flex and many more.

In response, and in a move similar to this famous scene from “Captain Phillips,” Captain Hov avenged his home city during his November 19 show at the Quicken Loans Arena, where he crowned himself “King of Cleveland.”

Holding court at the home of the Cavaliers, Jay told the audience that he’s got the crown now. “I’m with Lebron in Detroit last night. I said, ‘Ay man, you my guy and all that [but] you can’t be taking pictures in the Garden, talking about you’re the King of New York,’” he told the crowd. “So I told him I’m coming to Cleveland, I’m the King Of Cleveland now.” Bron caught the hilarious response front and center during the show, along with several other players on the Cavs.

Check, and mate.
