Although Drake and Meek Mill’s previous beef could fill up many pages with ease, the Toronto rapper has decided to take the high road and show his support for his currently incarcerated (and now former?) nemesis.

As captured on video, while on tour in Australia, the 6 God paused his set to stand in solidarity with Meek, who has been sentenced to two to four years for probation violation.

A fan in attendance was wearing a t-shirt that said “Free Meek Mill” on it, and the fan caught the rapper’s attention, he decided to echo the sentiment mid-performance.

“I see you got the ‘Free Meek Mill’ t-shirt on,” Drizzy said, calling attention to the fan in the crowd. “Free Meek Mill man, for real. You right.”

The controversial ruling, which arrived earlier this month and sent Meek back behind bars, has had countless in the hip-hop community and beyond up in arms. Celebrities such as JAY-Z, Freeway, Rick Ross, Macklemore, Colin Kaepernick and more have issued statements calling out injustice and joining the fight to stand up for those who are victims of an oppressive criminal justice system, such as the Philadelphia rapper himself.

Drake’s recent decision to stand up for Meek speaks to both the gravity of the situation and how despite their past differences, Drake’s recent actions reflect that even he feels as though Meek is serving a sentence he doesn’t deserve.

Perhaps this week we’ll see an update in his case, with Meek’s lawyer previously filing a motion against the ruling judge, Genece Brinkley. This past week, a bail hearing was filed and later canceled, with the courts making an “administrative error.”
