During his most recent visit to The Breakfast Club, Young Dolph was grilled on the alleged beef between him and Yo Gotti. The beef, which both rappers have at times denied even exists, has so far involved subtle jabs being exchanged on tracks and, much more seriously, Dolph actually being shot.

As he sat with Charlamagne tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy, the rapper spoke on what he labels a “misunderstanding” with Gotti, as well as, whether he aims to capitalize off of controversy and how he regrets missing out on prom.

“It ain’t no issue,” said Dolph when discussing the rumored rift. “It ain’t no beef. It ain’t no nothing. It’s just a whole lot of misunderstandings and some stuff I don’t respect.”

However, the Thinking Out Loud rapper did state that he had no interest in attempting to squash whatever issues the two may have.

Dolph went on to recall his first time meeting Yo Gotti, who he called “lame” throughout the interview. According to the Chicago-born, Memphis-raised rapper, he wasn’t a fan of how the “Down in the DM” artist used Collective Music Group’s Zed Zilla and Starlito to convince him to also join the CMG’s roster.

“This my first time meeting you,” said Dolph. “And you going to really sit and downplay your artists and throw your artists under the bus to try to persuade me in to come over there?”

Considering Dolph announced the release date and title of his latest album, Thinking Out Loud, shortly after being released from the hospital following his most recent shooting, Charlamagne asked Dolph if his projects are timed to coincide with the controversies that seem to frequent the rapper’s life. Dolph responded, “I could’ve either gone about it a few ways, but if you pay attention, which way am I choosing every time? To break the bank on them.”
