Nas continues to build his legacy beyond his music, with the emcee bringing his famed restaurant back to his roots in Queens, New York.

As announced on Instagram, Nas will be opening a Sweet Chick in Long Island City alongside founder John Seymour, with the new restaurant marking the fifth location for the independently owned franchise. There are currently three New York City locations, with one in Los Angeles as well.

“Bringing a Sweet Chick to Queens has been something we really wanted to do since Nas joined the Sweet Chick family,” Seymour told VIBE. “The location itself will have elements inspired by the jazz scene that birthed chicken and waffles. Nas’ father Olu Dara, who is also an acclaimed jazz musician, will also be the inspiration behind the private room design. I want it to be a place his father would have hung out at back in the day.”

As reported, the new location is on track to open its doors in February 2018.

In the meantime, if you haven’t yet paid a visit to Sweet Chick and find yourself in NYC or LA, it’s a must. Check out the mouth-watering menu here and see below for the official announcement.
