Yesterday the news broke that the Meek Mill would once again be heading to prison. And along with many celebrities in the industry, two of his big homies, JAY-Z and Rick Ross, have spoken up on social media to show their support for him.

Rumor Report | Meek Mill sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for violating probation

Meek will spend a minimum of two years behind bars as a result of violating his probation, according to the judge who handed down the decision. In the wake of the announcement, the hip hop community has come to the Philly rap star’s defense.

Not long after Meek was handed the unfortunate news, JAY-Z addressed the situation. In a statement posted to his Facebook page, Hov said, “The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer — is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career.” The Dreams & Nightmares rapper is currently managed by JAY-Z’s Roc Nation.

Earlier today, Rick Ross broke his silence, delivering a message of optimism to his protege. “Tests are not for the faint at heart! . Every time an obstacle crosses his path, he fights his way through and comes out triumphant. I’ve watched him 1st hand fight this unjust system for close to a decade. But my dawg is a warrior! You know the family is already holding you down during this time of test. Here’s to the future! It will be BRIGHT! #doubleMDreamchasers,” wrote the Teflon Don in a post sent to Instagram.
