Earlier Sunday (Nov. 5), a shooter opened fire in a Texas church in a rural community, taking the lives of over 26 people.
According to ABC, the suspected gunman, who was killed after a brief chase, has been identified as Devin Kelley, a 26-year-old white male from New Braunsfels, Texas.
As reported, the investigation into his background is now underway, with a LinkedIn profile associated with Kelley suggesting he has a military background. Additionally, a recent Facebook post showed him referring to his AR-15 as a “bad b—h” with his friends commenting in agreement.
The home of the deceased gunman is currently being searched for explosives by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with the FBI also searching the man’s home for information pertaining to the violent mass shooting.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed that 26 people died in the shooting, which is the worst in the history of the state. Over two dozen were injured.
