Chris Rivers is turning to his music to speak out against the vicious cycle of domestic abuse, shining a light on the harsh realities that victims of emotional and physical experience on a day-to-day basis.
The powerful visual is soundtracked by his track, “Fear Of My Crown,” which appears on his 2017 album, Delorean and features stunning vocals by Sy.
The 22-year-old rapper, known for being the son of the late legendary emcee Big Pun, portrays the story of a family who has suffered from a pattern of abuse that spans generations.
“This is a story of a few tainted by the darkness of many in hopes that in some way, it helps your light shine,” a message, signed by Rivers, reads at beginning of the video. “You are all priceless.”
In the chilling visual, a young boy witnesses his father hit his mother, eventually growing up to repeat the vicious cycle with his own son. Towards the end of the clip, the little boy can be seen bravely standing up to his father and refusing to let his father continue to be violent against him.
