Lil Jon, best known for his hit singles “Get Low,” “Turn Down For What” and “Yeah,” has a new accolade to add to his ever-growing list of accomplishments.

As reported, the rapper spent last week in the Asuogyaman district, located in eastern Ghana, in order to help officially open a school for primary students.

To help make building the school possible, the rapper joined forces with Pencils of Promise, an organization dedicated to helping children receive a quality education worldwide. The organization has opened over 400 schools since 2009, with Lil Jon’s philanthropy helping further their mission.

As reported, the school, named Abomayaw D.A. Kindergarten, opened last week on Thursday (Oct. 12). The school is dedicated to the Abomayaw community and in honor of Carrie M. Smith, Lil Jon’s late mother.

“Yesterday was a special day for me and my family,” the rapper wrote on Instagram, reflecting on his charitable work. “We had the ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication of a brand new primary school in Ghana I funded along with @pencilsofpromise I dedicated it to the Abomayaw community and to my mother. God is good.”

Per a local radio station’s report, prior to Lil Jon helping open the school, students in that area were forced to attend classes from inside sheds.
