Ever since Donald Trump and his administration set their crosshairs on the NFL, celebrities have come forward to defend its protesting players, including Diddy who took to social media last month to not only show support, but to remind the league of its power and strength in numbers.

He said then:

“If y’all do whatever you do in unity, you can’t be stopped. Just do the math, man. Do the math. Stick together and stand up for each other. Believe, we all we got. It has nothing to do with football, or business, y’all are our stars. Y’all represent us, y’all are our strong heroes. So, show that strength, please.”

Now, he’s dreaming of doing more than just giving encouragement. The mogul took to Twitter yesterday (October 10) to share his desires of developing and owning his own league safe from the current constructs. He wrote:

“I did have a dream to own a NFL team but now my dream is to own our own league! A league where you can be yourself. Have a retirement plan. Have freedom to be a great human and protest for your people without being demonized for your beliefs as a KING!! NEW DREAM ALERT!!!! SELL ME THE NFL NOW!!!!”

Before his announcement, he’d retweeted a statistic from CNN political commentator Keith Boykin. Is this what inspired his new dream?

“Black players are 70% of the NFL. We have the power to defend Colin Kaepernick and Jemele Hill from the forces that would silence them.”
