Hate it or love it, most of the rappers who we consider as greatest have dropped a double-album. JAY-Z, Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, and more. Now, Big K.R.I.T. is solidifying his case as one of the greats with his first double album, 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time.

Mississippi’s veteran rapper/producer has spent more than a year out of the spotlight, dipping out after completing his 12 For 12 series of heaters in July 2016. But it looks like he’s returning in a big way. First, he released a dark, organ-fueled song called “Confetti,” followed by a trailer that showed him murdering and burying his old self.

Now, K.R.I.T. has announced an Oct. 27 release date and preorders for 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time – his first retail album since 2014’s Cadillactica, and his first official release since leaving Def Jam. He’s also released another instant gratification track, the bouncy, sanctified “Keep the Devil Off,” with a grainy video that shows him catching the spirit.

Dual album covers show two sides of K.R.I.T.: one with a seemingly demonic K.R.I.T. wearing a decadent shirt in front of a fiery backdrop, and another with him wearing a holy robe. It appears that 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time will showcase multiple sides of K.R.I.T.’s spirituality. And with no credited features and a fresh, gospel hue to his sound, it looks like K.R.I.T. is ready to take what’s his.
