Earlier this year, Tupac was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with help from Alicia Keys, T.I., and Snoop Dogg, who honored the late rapper with humor and heart.
Now, a new set of artists have been selected as nominees for 2018’s induction ceremony. To note, artists become eligible for inclusion at least 25 years after the release of their first record.
Up for nomination this year are LL Cool J, Nina Simone, and Rufus with Chaka Khan, among others (as Simone’s debut Little Girl Blue dropped in 1958, while Rufus’ self-titled album was released in 1973, and LL’s Radio appeared in 1985).
Simone’s vocals have been celebrated and sampled on both JAY-Z and Kanye West’s latest records. And LL recently visited Drink Champs where he cleared up unflattering rumors, revisited his Canibus beef, detailed a life-or-death home invasion, and more.
Other nominees include Rage Against the Machine, Bon Jovi, Radiohead, Eurythmics, and others. Voting is open to the public and can be done here.
