With Puerto Rico left in a heartbreaking state of humanitarian crisis following the recent hurricanes, countless celebrities, activists and concerned citizens have begun raising money and collecting donations to assist with hurricane relief efforts.
Most recently, Princess Nokia has launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with helping those in need, devoting her platform to raise as much money and awareness as possible.
“I am creating this go fund me, to directly provide imminent care and support to the people of Puerto Rico as a gesture of solidarity, and alliance with my mother country,” the New York-based Puerto Rican artist writes in the page’s description. “This go fund me will serve as a personal 100 percent non-profit organization that will serve to assist the island and people of Puerto Rico in its dire time of need.”
With a goal set of $100,000, the 25-year-old will be using the donated money to provide a variety of necessary things, such as medical supplies, clean water, medical coverage, non-perishable food, cargo plane expenses, spiritual and emotional trauma counseling and air fare for those who want to evacuate the island.
