Young Thug was arrested over the weekend and while it was reported that he faced felony marijuana possession, more details have been revealed on the charges.
As confirmed to REVOLT, the rapper was arrested on Saturday (September 25) by the Brookhaven Police Department on charges that include possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of Xanax, possession of Codeine, possession of Ecstasy, and two counts of possession of a firearm during VGCSA (Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act). Brookhaven PD confirmed the arrest to REVOLT.
The rapper, born Jeffrey Williams, was arrested after a traffic stop for his tinted windows. Following a search of his vehicle, police located several items of narcotics and pills, liquid codeine, two firearms, and a large amount of cash. As of this writing, he is expected to appear in court. News of the arrest was first reported by TMZ.
Thug has already had a fair share of legal run-ins during the year. Earlier this year, an Atlanta judge issued a warrant for his arrest to resolve a previous ticket for excessively tinted windows. Back in March, he was wanted for questioning after allegedly slapping a woman. The case later thrown out due to lack of evidence. In April, he was cleared of felony drug and gun charges that bred from a 2015 arrest.
