UPDATE: The title to Chance’s new record is “#FirstWorldProblems.”
Ready or not, the day is on its way and it couldn’t wait no more. That’s the message echoed within the cool, crisp hook of Chance the Rapper’s newest and still-untitled track. Like he’s done in the past, dating back to 2015 with the debut of “Angels,” Chano appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform a brand new track featuring buzzing singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar, who joined in on backing vocals and electric guitar. The atmospheric, gospel-tinged record featured a full band and trio of backing singers, as Chano tackles everything from religion to politics and societal issues.
In addition to his performance, Chance also sat with Colbert for an interview centered on a range of topics, including whether or not he plans on running for mayor of Chicago. His answer: “I don’t like politics.” Check out more from the interview below.
