Cardi B has taken to Twitter to call out the president for focusing his attention on, seemingly, everything else besides Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory that is currently in a state of crisis.
The island, which recently was hit by Hurricane Maria, is still without power, something that the Bronx rapper is waiting for Donald Trump to address, let alone act on.
Is Cardi B the hottest MC in New York City?
“Puerto Rico in crisis right now & Donald has not yet visited or talk about it,” Cardi shared on Twitter. “PR is part of the USA you know Don’t forget about the island.”
Many fans have supported Cardi’s tweet, with countless fans applauding her efforts to bring attention to the fact that 100% of the territory is still without power following the destruction of the hurricane.
Other celebrities, such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, have devoted their time to come to the aid of the roughly three million people affected by the hurricane, with the Hamilton creator using his platform to raise as much money as possible.
Jennifer Lopez, for another example, has also made a $1M donation to help victims in Puerto Rico, which as Cardi has pointed out, is much more than the president of the United States has done.
Officials have described the conditions in Puerto Rico as “apocalyptic,” with the U.S. territory completely off the grid in the storm’s aftermath.
In addition to vocalizing her frustration regarding Trump and the situation in Puerto Rico, Cardi B, who has formally vocalized her support for Colin Kaepernick, did so once again Sunday afternoon, wondering aloud when the NFL will actually be hiring the still-unemployed player.
