Earlier this year, Kodak Black took shots at Lil Wayne, declaring that he wanted to pick a fight with the legendary rapper.

While Weezy himself barely acknowledged the disrespect the Project Baby rapper was putting on his name, it now appears that the teenager has an explanation regarding his hard feelings.

A new clip is making rounds online of Kodak Black explaining the situation, with his commentary suggesting he was offended and frustrated that Lil Wayne didn’t know he existed.

“A n—a tried to smurf a n—a, like, like, like, he don’t know who I am and s–t,” he can be heard saying in the clip. “So one day I over went.. took that Patron and Grey Goose.. I wasn’t finna wake up in the morning and say, ‘Oh I’m sorry. That was a mistake. I was toast.’”

As the age-old saying goes, drunk words are sober thoughts… Perhaps as Kodak Black continues to find success in the music industry, Lil Wayne will one day give him the props he’s hoping for.
