Chris Rock voices his support for Colin Kaepernick

Chris Rock is now the latest celebrity to vocalize their support of Colin Kaepernick.

As the conversations continue, with many saying the outspoken football player is being blackballed by the NFL for his advocacy efforts, Kaepernick still remains an unrestricted free agent — something that the comedian had plenty to weigh in about.

Taking to Instagram, Rock posted a photo of the former 49ers quarterback kneeling in silent protest, accompanying his post with a lengthy caption and revealing that he believes Kap isn’t one of “the bad ones” and deserves to be on the field.

“It’s not the fact that not one of the bad teams that obviously needs a quarterback signed him i.e. Jets / browns / jaguars / bears,” the comedian begins. “It’s not the fact that none of the teams that are good but are just a stable quarterback away from being a super bowl contender signed him Texans/ broncos/. It’s the fact the there’s a bunch of teams that are an injured quarterback away from there [sic] whole season going up in smoke Cowboys/ raiders / etc. The fact that the good teams don’t want him is the proof.”

He then went on to voice his unfiltered commentary that there are athletes who have received special treatment, despite being involved (or allegedly involved) with antics far worse than Kaepernick’s decision to boycott the National Anthem.

“Most athletes are decent people but there’s also a lot of bad guys that have been made worse buy getting special treatment their whole lives,” Rock continues. “I’ve met Colin a few times and I don’t think he’s one of the bad ones. Btw I understand anybody that doesn’t agree with him that’s your right I get it. But you have to admit that in the world of sports where we give actual criminals a fifteenth chance this guys shouldn’t be denied the right to ever play again.”

Chris Rock’s commentary arrives one day after JAY-Z dedicated his track, “The Story of O.J.”, to the NFL star and social justice warrior, during his headlining set at the Meadows Festival in NYC.
