Martin Shkreli gets bail revoked due to alarming Facebook post about Hillary Clinton

Just over a week ago, Martin Shkreli put the legendary lone copy of Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin on eBay, furthering his reputation as one of the most insufferable people to ever get their hands on a Wi-Fi connection, let alone a rare hip-hop album.

Shkreli, who earned the nickname Pharma Bro following his controversial decision to raise the price of a life-saving AIDs-related drug by 5,000%, has gotten himself in trouble once again, this time not-surprisingly so for his provocative antics on social media.

As reported, the former pharmaceutical exec has had his bail revoked and was headed to jail Wednesday (Sept. 13), with U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto arriving at the decision to put Shkreli behind bars after evaluating a recent Facebook post.

In the Facebook post in question, Shkreli puts a $5,000 bounty out for anyone who could “grab a hair” from the head of Hillary Clinton during her book tour.

According to Matsumoto’s ruling, the post could be perceived by others as a true threat, explaining, “That is a solicitation to assault in exchange for money that is not protected by the First Amendment.”

Earlier this summer, Shkreli was convicted of two counts of securities fraud and a single count of conspiracy and is currently facing 20 years in prison. According to reports, he will be held at a federal jail in Brooklyn and will likely remain behind bars until his sentencing on January 16.
