The combined powers of Houston legend Bun B and renowned music executive Scooter Braun have proven to be quite impactful.

Together, the pair brought together dozens of the most influential celebrities, for a live telethon and benefit concert, in an effort to raise as much money as possible and come to the aid of those who were hit the hardest by the devastation caused by the two recent record-breaking hurricanes, Harvey and Irma.

The live telecast, which aired on a variety of networks and streamed online Tuesday evening (Sept. 12), featured co-organizers Bun B and Scooter Braun being joined (either in person or via a pre-recorded message) by the likes of REVOLT chairman Diddy, Beyoncé, Drake, George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Jamie Foxx, DJ Khaled (and, of course, baby Asahd), Matthew McConaughey, Justin Bieber, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Kelly Rowland, Dave Matthews, Julianne Moore, Questlove, Ryan Seacrest, Bruce Willis, Lupita Nyong’o, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Cher, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jared Leto, Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Rob Lowe, Blake Shelton, Barbra Streisand, Nicki Minaj, Reese Witherspoon and more.

For the evening’s live performances, Stevie Wonder kicked off the festivities with a rendition of “Lean on Me.”

The event, which featured a combination of live performances and call-to-action messages urging those watching to donate, exemplifies what is possible when people come together and unite for an important cause.

“This is your moment to make a difference on someone’s life,” Diddy stated during the event, helping raise awareness of the importance of getting involved.

From Apple donating $5 million to the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation matching the first $10 million donated to the NBA Players Association matching any NBA player who donates up to $20K, the fundraiser’s efforts have already seen results that will lead to changing the lives of hurricane victims for the better, with the telethon raising over $14.5 million by 9 PM ET (when the hour-long special finished airing live on the east coast). That number continues to grow, with the opportunity to donate extended overnight.

Those still interested in donating can do so via phone by calling 1-800-258-6000, text messaging GIVE to 80077, or online via HandInHand2017.com, with the telephone lines remaining open overnight.

As previously reported, one hundred percent of the proceeds will go to participating charities, including the Rebuild Texas Fund, ASPCA, Best Friends, Direct Relief, Feeding Texas, Feeding Florida, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children and United Way.
