Since making their debut in 2001, CunninLynguists have consistently dropped incredible music over the years, with the Southern rap trio continuing their winning streak earlier this year with the release of two EPs.

Today, roughly 16 years since marking their first entry in the rap game with 2001’s Will Rap for Food, the Lexington, Kentucky-based crew announced their first formal studio album in six years.

The trio, comprised of members Kno, Deacon the Villian and Natti, broke the good news earlier today (Sept. 7), sharing details of their forthcoming LP, Rose Azura Njano with fans. The album will feature songs from both of their 2017 EPs, The Rose and The Azura EP, as well as will include a handful of previously unreleased tracks.

According to the group’s accompanying statement, the project, which is slated to arrive on October 6th, is an “exploration of Black music in America and its history in pain, loss, hardships and socio-political movements as personified by the album’s titular character, the chromesthesia-afflicted Rose.”
