Less than a week after it was revealed that the soundtrack to Insecure’s Season 2 would feature never-before-heard songs from both SZA and Jorja Smith, we now have our first listen at the former. (We’ll likely have to wait until the finale this Sunday to hear the latter, though.)

Over synths, horns, a bassline, and rattling trap, SZA sings about the demise of a relationship in her signature off-beat style: “What’s the difference if it’s still good / Just not yours / Exclusively / Used to be all good / Trade it all / Now it’s all bad.”

The funky chorus sees her admitting to her faults, though: “I know you wish I wasn’t so hard to love / Darling, you make it too hard to trust / Running from me / I’m scared of love / Make it easy for me / Don’t want to be this difficult.”

According to Rap-Up, in a now-deleted tweet, Insecure creator, writer, and star Issa Rae once wrote about the track on Twitter, saying:

“We got sent this SZA track before the album came out and I was in LOVEEEE. Lowkey the whole album could be on the show.”

SZA responded:

In other SZA news, Maroon 5 recently recruited her for collabo “What Lovers Do”; Kelly Rowland named her one of the top women in R and Solange has directed her upcoming video for “The Weekend” (recently covered) by Miguel.
