Lil Wayne’s bout with epilepsy has landed him in the hospital once again. The rapper was found unconscious in his hotel room on Sunday (September 3) after suffering from at least one seizure. Wayne was rushed to Northwestern Memorial in Chicago where sources say he had another one.

In an effort to get Lil Wayne to make it to his Memorial Day Weekend performance at Drais Beachclub in Las Vegas Sunday night, members of the rappers camp tried to have him discharged that afternoon. However, doctors urged that he stay put, as it was too risky to fly in his condition.

According to Lil Wayne, he’s struggled with epilepsy since childhood. “The bad news is I’m an epileptic,” Lil Wayne said after a near-fatal seizure in 2013. “I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious.”

Epilepsy has plagued the Cash Money rapper throughout his career. The most recent incident occurred in June 2016. Lil Wayne was on a private jet from Milwaukee to California when he had multiple seizures, lost consciousness and forced the plane to make an emergency landing.
