On Tuesday (August 30), Tweet’s boyfriend Jamal Bryant, founder and pastor of Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, notified fans that the singer had been hospitalized. According to Bryant’s post on Instagram, Tweet was admitted into the hospital with blood clots in both lungs and in her right arm.

Tweet’s daughter, Shenice Johnson, also confirmed the news on social media. “We are believing God for total recovery! She’s my world and I know she’s in God’s hands,” she posted.

Tweet, born Charlene Keys, emerged on the scene as a background vocalist on Missy Elliott’s third studio album, Miss E… So Addictive. In 2002, Tweet released her debut album Southern Hummingbird featuring the hit single, “Oops (Oh My).”
