Over the past few years, DJ Khaled has become one of the biggest celebrities in the country, scored a no. 1 album with Grateful, his first no. 1 song on the Hot 100 with “I’m The One”, and earned JAY-Z as his manager. But for all the keys DJ Khaled has shared for his success, planes haven’t been one of them. The producer/A&R has been notoriously afraid of flying, opting to take his tour bus to get around instead of taking the skies.

But this week, Khaled conquered his fears – with some help from his son Asahd. On Tuesday (Aug. 22), Khaled took his first plane ride in 10 years. He used his Instagram to chronicle the experience, posting photos of himself at the runway and then inside of the private jet, with Asahd in his lap.

“God is the greatest!! Thank you to my son @asahdkhaled!!! Asahd you are amazing!!! I haven’t flown in 10 years,” Khaled wrote. “Asahd hear [sic] now so things is just different! Let’s be super clear you know I go hard! But now i’m coming for that top spot on @forbes! Everything for my son!!”
