Drake left the 6 in shambles last night. The self-proclaimed 6 God, who had been celebrating Caribana all weekend in his hometown of Toronto, continued with the city’s most anticipated event of the year, the OVO Festival.

Monday at the Budweiser Stage was year number eight for the extravaganza. Keeping with tradition, Drizzy, wearing all black, had a seemingly endless onslaught of guest performers come out help destroy the stage. JAY-Z, Eminem, Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Outkast are just some who have joined Drake’s cavalcade of OVO Fest artists in the past. 2017 had no lack of special moments.

The biggest of those moments on Monday was Drake and Tory Lanez officially declaring the end of their long-standing beef dead (a picture of the two posing together surfaced on social media earlier this year, but Monday was the first time they both spoke about it), and performing together for the first time.

Drake performed a piece of “Controlla,” and with the crowd in a frenzy, Drizzy told his DJ to pull up and Lanez came out, hitting hard like a gunshot to the chest. Tory garnered arguably the loudest roar for a guest the whole night. Many were in disbelief to see Drake and Lanez together on stage. Monday’s display of unification was probably the biggest public resolution of beef since JAY-Z turned his “I Declare War” concert into a peace treaty by bringing out Nas over ten years ago.

Drake called for every young person to take he and Lanez coming together as an example to use in their lives.

“Let me tell you something,” he said. “Me and this man had problems with each other and we had never even met each other. I met the man, and he’s a great guy. Make some noise for somebody who’s carried this city on his back all across the muthafuckin’ world. A young king, Tory Lanez.”

More Toronto royalty performed toward the end of the show when The Weeknd came on stage, greeted with audible open arms.

Abel started with “The Hills” and transitioned into “Reminder.” After “Starboy,” Drake returned to the stage and the two longtime friends performed their Take Care classic “Crew Love.”

After they gave each other accolades in front of the audience, Weeknd referring to Drake as his “big brother” and Drake calling Weeknd his “little brother,” Drake said it was about time they make the long-yearned for “OVOXO” joint LP. Weeknd had a grin on his face and nodded his head in approval.

Speaking of albums, Drake said he’s so inspired by his city right now, he’s about record his next solo LP in his hometown.

The OVO Fest started off paying homage to Drake’s last official solo album Views. A huge replica of Toronto’s CN tower served as the stage backdrop for the night (Drake went to literally 20 companies to construct it. The last company took a little over three weeks to build it like he wanted). Like he did on his album cover, Drake was perched on top of it and commenced his set with More Life’s “Free Smoke.” And of course, you can’t be in the 6 without running through it with your woes (for Drizzy, one of them for the past few days has been LeBron James. The King was in attendance at the concert and hung out with Drake and French Montana at Caribana), hence the performance of his hit “Know Yourself.”

“I was running through the 6 with my woes” everyone chanted together. “You know how that shit go! You know how that shit go!”

“Jumpman” came soon after. Drake casually walked off the stage and the music to “Magnolia” started, with Playboi Carti running out and rapping his famous lines about Milli rocking in New York. “Woke Up Like This” followed.

“Oh, we just getting started,” Drake said after returning to the stage. “Is there anybody else you want to see tonight?”

Rae Sremmurd came out minutes later for “Black Beetles.” The brothers said they wanted to take time to debut a new joint and gave the spectators “Perplexing Pegasus.” The stage got dark and French Montana showed up for his smash “Unforgettable.” Of course Sremmurd stayed out onstage with him, as Swae Lee sang the hook.

The 6 God paused the parade of stars for a short time, focusing back on himself for “One Dance.” He told the ladies he had somebody who they would love and he was pinpoint accurate.

Cardi B, wearing a green fur and little else, came out to thumping screams for her “Bodak Yellow.” Cardi’s boyfriend Offset wasn’t far behind. He and Migos showed up and showed out for “Bad and Boujee” and “T-Shirt.”

Drake said he’s been rocking with “the young legends” since day one and they should perform some of the records they have together. His song “Portland” rocked on the heels of the statement, and the always energetic Travis Scott ran onstage to perform his verse.

Maestro Drake handed the stage over to Scott for his heart-palpitating brand of performances. The stage lights went all red for “Goosebumps.”

“I guess I should do some songs too right?” Drake asked after bringing out PartyNextDoor.

“Passionfruit” was a huge winner, with the crowd crooning “Passionate from miles away./ Passive with the things you say…”

Drake told his fans that he was waiting all night for the next moment. He wanted to bring out an artists who inspired him to rap and sing. And then the random, but powerful occurred: Nelly came out to perform his 2000 hit “E.I.” The St. Louis mayor got showered with cheers too as he unwrapped a few monsters from his catalog, “Country Grammar” and “Hot In Herre.”

Besides celebrating Toronto, OVO Fest was a celebration of Drake’s label deal with Warner Brother records and the roster. PartyNextDoor, DVSN, Roy Woods and Majid Jordan all performed as opening acts. Afterwards, the Drake and the VIPs had a get together on a boat at the venue and then OVO headed to the SoHo House for a little turn-up.
