Justin Bieber has made his first statement in regard to his sudden cancellation of the remaining 14 dates of his “Purpose” world tour.

In a long IG Post Wednesday night (August 2), the 23-year old singer expressed his gratitude to his fans and for his previous opportunities to tour.

He went on to admit, “I let my broken relationships dictate the way I acted toward people and the way I treated them! I let bitterness, jealously and fear run my life!!!!” he continued. “I am extremely blessed to have people in the past few years help me build my character back up reminding me of who I am and who I want to be!!!”

As to why he canceled, the singer says, he needed to take time for himself in order to protect his career and his well being.

“Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE,” he wrote. “I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be.”

The Canadian-born pop sensation has had a lot on his plate. After all, he did perform 154 shows across the world, then just days after announcing he was going to cancel the remaining dates of his tour, news broke he was banned from entering China due to “bad behavior.” Then, he accidently ran over a photographer; fortunately for him, he reportedly will not face criminal charges in that matter.

Hopefully the time off will give the Biebs a good reset.
