After collaborating with Solange, Danny Brown, and Clams Casino in 2016, this year saw Kelela join The xx on tour, guest on the Gorillaz album, nab a spot on the Made in America line-up, and get a co-sign from Beyonce and JAY-Z.

After all that, the singer is finally ready to release her long-awaited debut album.

The singer took to Instagram yesterday (July 30) to announce its title, Take Me Apart, and share its cover.

Today, she followed the news up with more artwork, a release date (October 6), and a lead single: “LMK.”

On “LMK,” synths plod and resonate before snaps and blunt percussion help build out the beat. It turns twinkly too before Kelela delivers:

“Saw your face in my lane / Fall in love everyday / You can chase it for the night / There’s a place for you and I / Let me know.”
