Dev Hynes’ last project under his Blood Orange moniker was 2016’s Freetown Sound, one of REVOLT TV’s favorites of the year, an album we described as where “80s pop and R&B, trip-hop, disco funk, tropical grooves, ballads, synths, and soul all lived equally, even if disjointedly.”

As applauded as that effort was, Hynes is already at work on its follow-up. The singer-producer took to Instagram yesterday (July 30) to tease the work, sharing a photo of himself surrounded by a keyboard, guitars, a speaker, computers, and sound equipment with the caption: “Currently working on Blood Orange album 4 🖖🏿.”

However, he then later changed the caption to: “Writing.”

Too late though; we know it’s coming.
