Will they or won’t they? That’s the question that typically comes up whenever Chance the Rapper and Childish Gambino tease their unreleased collaborative project.

During an Instagram Live session, Chance, who recently surprised SoundCloud users with a new song with Young Thug last week, revealed that he has “more songs together” with Gambino that should be coming soon. “Me and Donald Glover have more songs together,” he announced during the seven-minute live stream. While exciting as it is, the latest announcement from Chano is bittersweet as well.

Back in 2014, following their standout collab on Gambino’s “The Worst Guys” from Because the Internet, there was talks about a joint project between the two that generated excitement, buzz, and everything in between from fans. Together, they worked on songs like “Favorite Song” from 2013’s Acid Rap and the aforementioned “The Worst Guys” on Because the Internet. However, due to their hectic schedules, the collaborative plan experienced a delay. Last year, Chano surprised fans during a Reddit AMA, where he confirmed the album/mixtape and earlier this year, Gambino phoned into Big Boy’s Neighborhood on L.A.’s Real 92.3 and confirmed the two did in fact hit the studio.

Given Chance’s stance with SoundCloud and Gambino seemingly working on what is said to be his last official album, there’s still some hope that a joint project could happen sooner than later. Besides, Chance actually delivered two of his promised joint releases in the last two years, including 2015’s Free Based Freestyles mixtape with Lil B and last year’s Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama EP with Jeremih.

Leave it to Chance.
