While the musical chemistry between Justin Timberlake and Timbaland could be dubbed destiny considering the major success of their collaborative sounds on both JT’s FutureSex/LoveSounds and The 20/20 Experience(s), let’s not forget who first helped usher in the former N*SYNC member’s solo career.

It was Pharrell, with Chad Hugo, who largely produced Timberlake’s debut album, Justified. Creating seven out of the thirteen tracks, their meeting of the minds resulted in the hits “Senorita,” “Like I Love You,” and “Rock Your Body.”

And now, nearly 15 years after the LP’s release, they’ve reunited.

Actually, late last year, JT revealed that he’d enlisted both his former go-to producers for his upcoming project. And then in March, to blow all of our minds, he shared a photo of all three men in the studio to prove it.

Now, Pharrell has teased their collaborations even more.

In an interview with TODAY, Pharrell revealed why he wouldn’t be returning to NBC’s The Voice as a mentor, but offered up some information as a consolation prize, saying:

“Honestly, I have to work. I got so much work to do. It was so much fun and while I was doing it, helping other people was like a drug for me. I couldn’t get enough of helping them, but I have work to do, music to make and so many records. Ariana Grande’s album’s amazing, the Justin Timberlake album’s amazing.”

He also teased a mystery project that we can only hope is another N.E.R.D. album. He said:

“There’s another album that I can’t talk about, but all my fans know about it. I gotta be a good boy, but it’s coming and it’s exciting and there’s just so much work I got done being off, but I’m so grateful and had such a great time.”
