The homegoing services for Prodigy this morning were filled with tears as his friends such as Fat Joe, Remy Ma and Papoose, Raekwon, Ice-T and 50 Cent joined Havoc and Alchemist and other family at Frank E. Campbell’s funeral home in Manhattan to say a final goodbye to the supreme talented MC.

50 spoke deeply from the heart about his his working relationship and friendship with Prodigy, and elsewhere in the service Minister Louis Farrakhan imparted wisdom and brought forth uplifting sentiments to the room. This evening, the honorable Leader spoke on social media about being part of the service.

“I was honored to deliver words at today’s private memorial services held in New York for our brother and hip-hop artist Albert ‘Prodigy’ Johnson,” he wrote. “Farrakhan #Prodigy.”

Afterwards, even more friends and family and throngs of fans lined up around the block outside the funeral home to pay their respects. A shrine for P was set up inside with blown-up photos, artwork, album plaques, and apparel. You could see the likes of Tony Yayo, Lord Jamar from Brand Nubian, The Beatminerz, and a host of Queensbridge’s finest like Godfather and Ty Nitty coming to pay homage.
